A kongresszus megnyitóján 2009. szeptember 3-án 18.00 –tól Kypros H. Nicolaides professzor urat (Fetal Medicine Foundation, London) tiszteletbeli tagunkká avatjuk, s meghallgatjuk ünnepi előadását.
Nicolaides professzor úr vállalta, hogy a három évvel ezelőtt Debrecenben tartott nagy sikerű tanfolyamhoz hasonlóan a terhességi ultrahangszűrések új dimenzióiról 2009. szeptember 3-án 10-16 óráig pre-congress kurzust tart .

Belgyógyászati Klinika közös szervezésében továbbképző tanfolyamot indít, ami az idősödő emberi szervezetben kialakuló fiziológiás változásokról és az ezeket gyorsító tényezőkről szól. A tanfolyam tematikája alapján – egyedülálló módon – az egészség és a betegség határterületével foglalkozik tudományos igényességgel. Gyakorlati segítséget kíván nyújtani az orvosoknak abban, hogy a sokat emlegetett, de nem jól definiált „egészséges életmód” tanácsolásán túl mit tehetnek pácienseik egészséges öregedésért.A 2009. őszi tanfolyam mindenki számára ingyenes, köszönhetően a témát támogató cégek önzetlen felajánlásainak. Africa -Mbeya, Tanzania The launch of a 10-day Skin Cancer Prevention Programme, providing dermatological services to individuals with albinism at Mbeya Regional Referral Hospital.
Latin America - Patagonia, Argentina Free consultations and education for patients, healthcare workers, students and children at San Martín de los Andes Hospital.
North America - Canada An in-clinic talk on ‘teen and tween’ skincare, offering education and free dermatologist-approved products to parents and children, followed by an online forum for general practitioners
West/Central/South - Nepal Outreach clinics for vulnerable populations, education for teachers and healthcare workers, as well as stakeholder meetings and a medical education session in Kathmandu.
East Asia & Pacific - Australia An online patient group forum with renowned dermatologist Dr Stephen Schumack providing a global perspective on barriers to access to dermatological care, the financial burden of skin diseases and the stigma and discrimination suffered by patients.
