This Nexus meeting will highlight the latest advances in unraveling the role of the kidney in hypertension featuring a range of clinically relevant topics including the kidney as a requisite cause of hypertension, the role of the immune system in hypertension, the rationale behind evolving guidelines for treatment of hypertension in patients with kidney disease, new concepts of sodium homeostasis, and the role of renal denervation in hypertension therapy.
