Chairs: J. Apperley, E. Carreras, E. Gluckman, T. Masszi
Every year, the ESH-EBMT Training Course provides a comprehensive training in all aspects of autologous and allogeneic stem cell transplantation and comprises a mixture of formal lectures, case presentations by attendees and faculty, meet-the-expert breakfasts and dinner table discussions. For each topic an explanation of the basic principles is provided, followed by development of the subject through to the most recent advances in understanding and management. The objective of the course is to give opportunity to the attendees to have close contact and lively interaction with the teachers and the group in a nice setting. The speakers are chosen not only for their expertise in their subject but also for their teaching skills and willingness to discuss the field of transplant in both
formal and informal settings. The course is suitable for physicians at all stages of their career and is particularly useful for those in training, for those who wish to develop their current practice to a more challenging type of transplant and also as an update for established transplanters.

New ! Workshop on communication skills in the clinical setting – Thursday May 12, 2016
1PM-2:30PM
Patients in all settings give a high priority to communication as a key aspect of care. Their expectations in clinical consultations are that these are conducted honestly with straightforward understandable information given by empathic clinicians who are sensitive to their emotions and who will listen to them, and involve them in decision making.
An important way to raise awareness of the skills required for good communication with patients is by participation and observation rather than didactic teaching.
The use of actors as both clinician and patient/relative in simulated consultations provides a powerful means of examining the problems associated with difficult conversations in a setting where a variety of alternative approaches can be safely explored.
In this workshop, the delegates will be asked to provide examples of conversations that they find difficult in clinical practice. From these suggestions, they will create a realistic clinical scenario with the help of the facilitator and will then be able to watch the actors exploring the consultation in a role-play.

Dear Colleagues,
On behalf of the Organizing Committee, we cordially invite you to the 1st INTERNATIONAL SUMMIT FOR NAIL DISEASES to be held from 2nd to 4th of July 2010, in Athens.
The field of Nail Diseases has been attracting the attention of the scientific community over the past 30 years. Our scientific programme will cover the “hottest” topics of our subspecialty including recent developments and therapeutic methods. This goal will be successfully fulfilled thanks to the contribution of distinguished invited speakers with the hope of achieving a fair balance not only between basic and clinical science, but also between preventive and therapeutic approaches. In addition, information on the current state of the art through lectures, sessions and most importantly hands-on workshops with the new data will be presented by the experts in the field.
Furthermore, the city of Athens is the metropolis of western cultural history with unique archaeological sites. The Acropolis, the New Acropolis Archaeological Museum, the National Gallery, and many other museums and archaeological attractions in Athens are musts.
For us this effort was a source of creative joy and stimulating pleasure that we invite you to share with us along with professionals of international scientific reputation during next July 2010 in the vibrant city of Athens.
We look forward to your active participation,
Dimitrios Rigopoulos
Associate Professor of Dermatology
