I. Goals Related to the Structure and Operation of MLDT

Updating MLDT’s legal, administrative, accounting, and financial operations
- Renewal of the external support team (legal expert, accounting company, secretary).
- Updating contracts and responsibilities.
- Renewal of the “In Vitro Veritas Foundation” (new Board of Trustees,
legal/accounting updates).
- Headquarters change.

Improving MLDT’s revenue sources
- Increasing membership and associate membership.
- Offering industry-sponsored target-support activities (e.g., Jubilee Congress).
- Applying for MTA funding for operational costs.

Refreshing the ‘Ad hoc’ Board structure
- Updating tasks and membership of ad hoc committees.
- Quarterly reports on activities.

Updating MLDT’s communication
- Renewing website and social media presence.
- Ensuring continuous information flow to members (regular e-news).
- Increasing MLDT visibility in professional and public forums.

Professional advocacy
- Representation regarding MSc qualifications and medical salary tables.
- Advocacy for MOLSZE laboratory professionals.
- Addressing registration issues in EESZT for biochemists, MSc graduates, analysts.
II. Organizing Laboratory Diagnostic Activities in Collaboration with OLT

Updating guidelines according to OLT planning and coordination
- Preanalytical processes of routine laboratory tests.
- Handling of critical laboratory values.
- POCT application guideline.
- eGFR guideline.

LOINC implementation and unified request/le report formats
- Developing a unified nomenclature guideline for laboratory tests.
III. Attracting Young Professionals to Laboratory Medicine

Introducing exciting “lab experiences” to school students
- Special classroom sessions in primary schools.
- Annual “Introduction to Laboratory Diagnostics” programs in selected labs for high-
school students (POCT, molecular genetics demonstrations).

Motivating university/college students who use laboratory methods
- “Best Laboratory Presentation” award at TDK conferences.

Supporting young MLDT members’ professional engagement
- Grant opportunities for congress participation and domestic study visits.
IV. MLDT’s Cooperation with National Professional Societies
- Strategic cooperation with MOTESZ.
- Joint planning with MOLSZE.

- Cooperation with other scientific societies (Immunology, Haemostasis & Thrombosis,
Nephrology).
- Collaboration with related IVD disciplines (microbiology, transfusion medicine, genetics,
pathology, personalized medicine).
V. MLDT Special Programs

- Contract with Beckman Coulter.
- Framework development.
- Launch and annual awarding.

Reviving the MLDT Patronage Program
- Redesigning program conditions with diagnostic industry.

- Integration of POCT guidelines for general practice settings.

Reviving the MLDT Test Registry
- Surveying current situation.
- Decision on redesign of the registry for rare tests.

VI. International Activities of MLDT
- Increasing MLDT participation in EFLM and IFCC functional units.

- o Possible MOTESZ event: “How Laboratory Diagnostics Transformed Modern
Medicine” (e.g., hs-troponin, individualized therapies, bleeding management,

- Promoting BSc and MSc analytical programs and competencies.
- Training of assistants and specialist assistants.
- Consideration of launching phlebotomy training.
