It is with great pleasure that we invite you to participate in the 35th European Symposium on Calcified Tissues, to be held in the exciting city of Barcelona, Spain, from 24-28 May 2008.
The 2008 meeting will offer a high quality scientific programme of interest to both clinical and basic scientists.

AWARDS AND GRANTS:
There will be three different categories of award for those intending to submit abstracts:
1. YOUNG INVESTIGATOR AWARDS
These will be awarded to the highest scoring eligible authors and will be presented during an awards ceremony at the meeting.
2. TRAVEL GRANTS
The next level of awards, again based on abstract submissions from eligible authors.
3. POSTER PRIZES
For the first time at an ECTS meeting, there will also be a number of Poster Prizes, to be judged at the meeting.

From May 24 - 27, 2008, the "9th European Congress of Trauma and Emergency Surgery - First ESTES Congress" will take place in Budapest, Hungary.
This will be the first congress after the merger in May 2007 of two of Europe's largest trauma societies - ETS (European Trauma Society) and EATES (European Association for Trauma and Emergency Surgery) into ESTES - the European Society for Trauma and Emergency Surgery. With more than 5000 members and the support of several national trauma societies, ESTES is capable of significantly influencing the development and improvement of standards of trauma and emergency surgery in Europe.
Without doubt, Budapest 2008 will be a landmark event for the scientific community in Europe and beyond - which is why, on behalf of Congress President Peter Fröhlich and Congress Secretary Vilmos Vecsei, I invite you and your members to participate actively in this meeting.
