As you may remember there have been three congresses on Eastern European Psychiatry up to now, in Thessaloniki (Greece), Moscow (Russia) and Belgrade (Serbia) with great success. This time we will have our congress in Athens and, according to our Statutes, we will have a General Assembly and Elections during the Congress. The PAEEB is an evolution of the Institutional Program of the WPA on Eastern Europe and the Congress is held with the co-sponsorship of the WPA.
I cordially invite you all to Athens in November. Your Association should be an active partner in the PAEEB and we should all work as a group to advance Psychiatry in our region. The PAEEB is a scientific and not a political organization and the term "Eastern Europe" denotes the geography and not the politics of the region.
Our Congress will be held jointly with the Congress on Preventive Psychiatry. So, if you would like to present a paper on that topic as well, you would be most welcome to do so.
You will find more information and Instructions for the submission of Abstracts in the Congress website (www.preventive-psychiatry2015.com ). Please write to me and let me know whether your Association will be represented in the General Assembly and by whom. We will need an authorization by your Society to this effect.
The 4th Psychiatric Congress of Eastern Europe and the 3rd Congress of Preventive Psychiatry are now accepting abstracts.

Magyar Hypertonia Társaság World Congress of Cardiology 2006
Rendezvény kezdete: 2006.09.02.Rendezvény vége: 2006.09.06. Munkahely neve: World Heart Federation Címe: 5, avenue du Mail
1205 Geneva, Switzerland Tel: +41 22 807 03 20 Fax: +41 22 807 03 37 E-mail: congress@worldheart.org Helyszín: Barcelona, Spain A rendezvény Web oldala: http://www.escardio.org/congresses/World_Congress_Cardiology_2006/ The prevalence of many cardiovascular diseases increases exponentially with ageing, especially coronary heart disease in women, heart failure, atrial fibrillation, hypertension and some valvular heart diseases. This situation is a challenge for modern cardiology since all surveys show that management of elderly and advanced elderly patients differs from what is observed in younger patients and does not follow international guidelines. This is the reason why the ESC and the WHF will highlight this subject at WCC 2006 in a series of dedicated sessions analysing the situation and examining the differences and/or similarities between recommendations and management modalities in the ageing population with cardiovascular disorders as compared with the younger generation.
Deadline for Pre-registration: 31 July 2006.
After 31 July 2006 , you will need to register on-site in Barcelona. The registration desk will be open from 10:00 on Friday 1 September 2006.
