Advanced Cardiac MR Imaging
Cardiac MRI has evolved from a scientific and more experimental setting to a valid clinical investigation. Its place in the diagnostic workup of various cardiac-muscular diseases and of cardiac morphology has proven to even exceed the potential of various competing imaging modalities. The extraordinary competence of detecting myocardial infarction with and without dedicated contrast media and the promising results of coronary imaging with sophisticated MR angiography protocols will further underline the challenge of cardiac MRI in future. MRI of the heart is often announced as one-shop-stop procedure, thus combining the diagnostic benefits from Ultrasound, Nuclear Medicine and Angiography. The fast developing technique has been widely accepted by radiologists and cardiologists but requires a thorough knowledge of the underlying methodology.
The School of MRI Advanced Cardiac MR Imaging Course aims to deepen the insight into the basic physics as well as to understand the typical appearances of cardiac pathologies.
