A hanyálmirigy carcinoma jelenleg a világ 12. leggyakoribb rosszindulatú daganata. Ugyanakkor statisztikai becslések alapján az Egyesült Államokban 2030-ra a hasnyálmirigy rák a második leggyakoribb daganattá válhat megelőzve az emlő és a vastagbél daganatokat is. Hazánk a Wold Cancer Research Found International statisztikájában a pancreas rák incidenciáját tekintve a világon holtversenyben a 3-4. helyet foglalja el, 100 ezer lakosra számolva 9,3-as előfordulási rátával. Önmagában már ezek a tények is indokolják, hogy foglalkozzunk a betegséggel és annak kezelésével. Másfelől sajnálatos, hogy kezelési kísérleteink eredménye messze elmarad a más szervek esetén elvárt vagy megszokott eredményektől. Ezért a pancreas carcinoma halálozása továbbra is igen magas.
Az onkológia számos területe robbanásszerű változáson ment át az elmúlt években. Nem így a hasnyálmirigy daganatok kezelése. Bár több új és biztató onkológiai terápiás lehetőségről hallunk, egyenlőre a mindennapi rutinban még nem született meg az áttörés. Magyarországon továbbra is az 1996 óta használatos gemcitabin alapú kezelést alkalmazzuk.
A hasnyálmirgy rákból való gyógyulás máig egyetlen valódi esélyét a daganat korai felfedezését követő radikális sebészi eltávolítás adja. Ezek nehéz, komoly szakmai felkészültséget igénylő műtétek. Bár a hasnyálmirigy rezekciók halálozása ma már 5% alá csökkenthető, a különböző szövődmények előfordulása továbbra is 30% felett van.
Őszi továbbképző tanfolyamunkon mindezek értelmében a hasnyálmirigy tumorok kezelése lesz a téma. Először onkológus kollégáktól hallhatjuk, hogy hol állunk most és mi lehet a jövő útja. Ezt követően a sebészi kezelésről lesz szó, mégpedig rendhagyó módon. Öt nagy hazai centrum munkatársai videók segítségével mutatják majd be az általuk végzett műtéteket. Így mindenki számára mód nyílik betekinteni a részletekbe, megismerni olyan sebész technikai trükköket amelyek elsajátítása érdekében máskor hosszú tanulmányutakra kényszerültek.
Reményem szerint őszi tudományos fórumunk -melyet a Semmelweis Egyetem akkreditált- is népszerű és hasznos lesz. Sok szeretettel várunk minden érdeklődő kollégát kórházunkban október 17-én.
